Joe Griffith, MSN, CRNA
Joe currently serves as the Lead CRNA for the Acute Pain Service at Mercy Health St. Mary’s in Grand Rapids, Michigan—his home state. In this role, he is dedicated to reducing perioperative opioid use through the strategic implementation of regional anesthesia and effective systems management. Known for his clinical passion and forward-thinking approach, Joe consistently challenges himself and his colleagues to apply the latest evidence-based guidelines and advanced block techniques. He is deeply committed to interdisciplinary collaboration and individualized patient care, always striving to achieve optimal outcomes for both patients and the healthcare team.

Joe holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Human Physiology and Nursing from Michigan State University. He began his nursing career in the critical care unit at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he quickly distinguished himself as a leader and educator—serving as an instructor for both the Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).

Joe earned his Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, where he pursued a rural clinical track to deepen his expertise in ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia and gain experience working alongside independent CRNAs. His training across small hospitals and surgical centers throughout the Midwest has shaped his adaptable, solutions-oriented practice style.
